Clarkson Safety designs, installs and maintains fire alarm systems for some of the UK’s biggest retailers, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
 
A move to new premises gave Clarkson the opportunity to upgrade its communications systems to Vodafone One Net Business. Now emergency calls to landline numbers can ring on employees’ mobiles, with no extra cost for redirecting them.
 
This has improved how customers report activated fire alarms out-of-hours, with calls going straight through to on-call engineers and has significantly reduced response times and given Clarkson a more mobile workforce.

Founded in 1996, Fife Council provides a wide range of services for a population of around 360,000 people. These services include the Housing Repairs team, part of Fife’s largest direct labour department.
 
When the Housing Repairs team was seeking to reduce their paperwork, field-based electricians were given ruggedised mobile devices and the TotalMobile app. This gave them mobile access to back-office systems, so they could transmit the details of each job electronically.
 
This has meant a huge reduction in the amount of paperwork generated – and the 11 pairs of hands each form went through.
 
This has resulted in around 20% more jobs completed each day, with scheduling, stock control, billing and timesheets all taken care of through the app as well. As a result, the council began to roll out TotalMobile to its other services during 2012.
